- In 2019, Iman Vellani attended the Toronto International Film Festival as a member of the TIFF Next Wave Committee. It was during this year that the exciting announcement of the Ms. Marvel series caught her attention. Accompanied by fellow TIFF members Nara Wrigglesworth and Dan Dinary, Vellani eagerly embraced this new development.
- Since childhood, Vellani has been an ardent admirer of Marvel and Iron Man. Motivated by her lifelong passion, she took a chance and participated in the auditions for the lead role of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel via a Zoom call. Sana Amanat, the co-creator of Kamala Khan’s character, had the opportunity to audition her. During the audition, it became evident that Vellani’s immense love for Marvel was undeniable.
