Rivaba Ravindrasinh Jadeja, an Indian politician and the wife of renowned Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, gained significant attention in November 2022. She received a ticket from the Bharatiya Janta Party to run for the Gujarat assembly elections in the Jamnagar North constituency.

One of the participants in the 2018 protest against the film ‘Padmavat,’ featuring Deepika Padukone, was Rivaba Jadeja.

Rivaba Jadeja started her career as a social worker in Gujarat, where she actively advocated for women’s rights. In 2018, she was appointed as the chief of the women’s wing of Karni Sena, a right-wing organization representing the Kashtriya community. During the same year, Rivaba Jadeja joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) as a party worker in Gujarat. Her induction into the party took place in the presence of Gujarat’s Agriculture Minister R C Faldu and MP Poonam Madam. In 2018, Rivaba Jadeja made the decision to align herself with the BJP.

Rivaba Jadeja gained notoriety in 2018 when she became embroiled in a scandal after colliding her car with a police constable’s bike in Jamnagar city, Gujarat. Promptly, she informed the nearby police station about the incident and alleged that the constable had assaulted her. Conversely, the constable accused Rivaba of reckless driving. In 2022, Ravindra Jadeja, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricket team, attributed their victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL matches to his wife, Rivaba. During a press conference, he expressed that the first win held a special place in his heart and he wanted to acknowledge his wife for it. He stated, “I would like to begin by saying that this is my first triumph as a captain. I want to dedicate this accomplishment to my wife and the entire team, as the significance of a first victory cannot be replaced. In the previous four matches, we were unable to secure a win. In November 2022, Rivaba Jadeja’s political journey took an interesting turn as she prepared to run for the Jamnagar North constituency assembly elections in Gujarat, challenging her sister-in-law Naina Jadeja. Coincidentally, Naina had also received a nomination from the Indian National Congress to contest in the same constituency. The two had joined opposing political parties in Gujarat back in 2018. Naina, who is well-known as a dedicated congress party worker in Jamnagar, Gujarat, was recently appointed as the District Women’s Congress President in the constituency in 2022.
