Sarah Jacob, an esteemed Indian journalist and news editor, has gained recognition for her role as the host of ‘We The People,’ a prestigious primetime talk show aired on NDTV 24×7.

Coming from a lineage of army personnel, she is proud to be part of a family where her father and grandfather served in the Indian army.

Due to her father’s frequent transfers, Sarah’s childhood was spent in several cosmopolitan cities across India.

Despite Jacob’s grandmother’s desire for her to become a doctor, Sarah’s passion for reading books led her to choose Humanities as her field of study for class 11 and class 12.

One year prior to her board examination, Lady Shri Ram College for Women in Delhi introduced a new journalism program. This development sparked Sarah’s interest in pursuing a career in journalism. Upon successfully passing the entrance exam, Sarah enrolled herself in the program and secured one of the 18 available seats.

She officially announced her departure from the company, stating that she had made the decision the previous night. From 2001 to 2023, her journey at NDTV had been extraordinary, starting as a reporter and eventually having her own show. She felt immense fulfillment and expressed eternal gratitude for what NDTV had given her and continued to offer. After the Adani Group took ownership of the channel in December 2022, Sarah Jacob’s resignation marked the ninth departure of a journalist and senior editor from NDTV. Ravish Kumar was the first to resign following the acquisition, followed by Suparna Singh, NDTV’s group president, Arijit Chatterjee, chief strategy officer, and Kawaljit Singh Bedi, product officer.
