Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock,” is the offspring of Ata Johnson and the legendary wrestler Rocky Johnson. In addition, his maternal grandfather, Peter Maivia, was a renowned wrestler as well. Currently, Dwayne’s cousin Savelina Fanene is an active wrestler employed by WWE.

He comes from a mixed heritage, with his father being of Black Nova Scotian origin and his mother having Samoan roots. Notably, his father was part of the groundbreaking black tag team that emerged victorious as the World Tag Team Champions in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).

Johnson briefly resided in the suburb of Grey Lynn in Auckland, New Zealand, alongside his maternal relatives. During this time, he enrolled in Richmond Road Primary School before eventually departing with his parents to the United States.
