Some Lesser Known Facts About Sam Curran
- Sam Curran was born into a family with a strong cricketing background. His father had proudly represented Zimbabwe in the 1983 and 1987 Cricket World Cups, while his brothers, Ben and Tom Curran, have also pursued successful careers as professional cricketers. Throughout his childhood, Sam Curran was fortunate to have the constant company and support of his brothers and parents.
- Prior to the land reform policy in 2004, he resided on the family farm in Rusape during his childhood.
- In addition, he has had the opportunity to play for Zimbabwe, showcasing his talent at the 2011-12 CSA Under-13 Week tournament as a representative of the country.
- At Under-15, Under-17, and Second XI level, he has been a representative of his club Surrey.
- In the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, he participated as a representative of England Under-19. Throughout the tournament, he demonstrated remarkable performance by scoring 201 runs and securing seven wickets.
- At the age of 53, his father experienced a tragic incident in 2012 when he collapsed during a jog in the park. Sadly, he did not survive.
