Robert Raj, an Indian choreographer, director, producer, and actor, is renowned for his contributions to various regional film industries in India. Known for his portrayal of villains on the big screen, he also makes cameo appearances in the songs he choreographs. In 2022, Robert Raj gained significant attention when he took part in the popular Indian reality show, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 6, which aired on the Star Vijay channel.

Robert Raj began his career as a child artist in the film Azhagan in 1991, portraying Mammooty’s son. Subsequently, he showcased his dancing skills in Tamil films like Mannava (1996) with the song “Yamma Yamma,” Kaalamellam Kaathiruppen (1997) with the song “Anjam Number,” and Narasimham (2000) with the song “Pazhanimalai.”

Robert Raj made his acting debut in 2002 with the film Maaran, directed by Sathyaraj. Three years later, he took on the role of a disabled student aspiring to be a dancer in the film Dancer. His portrayal in the film earned him the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Villain in 2006, which was highly praised by numerous film critics.

Vinod, a promising Tamil actor, had been in a live-in relationship with Alphonsa and both had attempted suicide, although Alphonsa managed to survive. Subsequently, Vinod’s relatives accused Alphonsa and her family of being responsible for his tragic demise.

In 2013, Robert Raj made an appearance on the television show Natchathira Jannal, which aired on the Puthuyugam channel. He starred opposite Vanitha Vijayakumar in the lead role. During a media conference in February 2017, South Indian actor Tinku accused composer Amresh Ganesh of stealing the song “Hara Hara Mahadevaki” before the release of the film Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva. Tinku claimed that he and Robert were working on a film called Thaathaa Car-ai Thodadhae and that the song was their original composition. According to Tinku, he and Amresh had collaborated on the song in 2015, but due to production issues, their film was delayed, and Amresh used the song for another project. However, Amresh denied all the allegations made by Tinku and Robert, stating that they were trying to deceive him and raise funds for their delayed film. Amresh explained that he had composed the disputed song in Bangkok without any cost and had paid Tinku and Robert for appearing in the song’s video, even though the film it was intended for ultimately failed. Amresh also revealed that Robert had tried to pitch the song to music composer Srikanth Deva for another delayed film called Minor Kunju Kaanom. Amresh concluded that Tinku, Robert, and Srikanth Dev were all involved in the creation of the shelved film Minor Kunju Kaanom.
