Harshvardhan Rane, a well-known Bollywood actor from India, gained immense popularity through his debut role in the Hindi film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ (2016) portraying the character of Inder Lal Parihaar.

In 1983, he came into the world to a mother of Tegulu descent and a father from Maharashtrian heritage.

At the age of 15, he fled his home with only Rs. 200 in his pocket. During an interview, he expressed his unwavering determination to prove his doubters wrong. Even as a young child, he went above and beyond to showcase the boundless possibilities that can be achieved through hard work. When he decided to pursue acting, he faced criticism and doubt, as people questioned the legitimacy of the profession and his chances of survival without connections in Bombay. His sole aspiration was to escape Gwalior and the narrow-minded society that confined his potential. He not only left his home but also distanced himself from a society that lacked vision, faith, and belief. To this day, he continues to keep his distance from individuals who are limited by their own perspectives.

Since childhood, Rane has been captivated by the world of modeling. This passion led him to abandon his studies and embark on a journey to pursue a career as an actor.

Afterward, he enrolled in Barry John Acting Studio for training and showcased his talent in several theatrical productions. He successfully carried out the Indian adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ exceptional works.

Afterwards, he journeyed to Mumbai with the aspiration of pursuing a career in the film industry. In 2007, he was fortunate enough to secure his acting debut in the series ‘Left Right Left’ on SAB TV, portraying the character of Cadet Rummy Gaur. The character of Harshvardhan is featured in the TV show ‘Left Right Left’.

Harshvardhan made his first appearance in the film industry in 2010 with the Telugu movie ‘Thakita Thakita’. He went on to act in several other Telugu films such as Avunu (2012), Maaya (2014), Brother of Bommali (2014), Kavacham (2018), and more. Harshvardhan can be seen starring in both ‘Thakita Thakita’ and ‘Kavacham’.

During an interview, he shared his journey into this profession, saying, “I started buying vintage furniture from Nampally Station in Hyderabad and giving it a fresh, distressed appearance. Wealthy individuals loved this style (laughs), so I would sell it to them. This became my means of earning a living. The whole experience taught me a lot, and to this day, my WhatsApp status proudly identifies me as a ‘Carpenter’.”
According to the Hindustan Times, in 2004, he was employed as a delivery boy and had the opportunity to deliver a helmet to actor John Abraham.

Harshvardhan disclosed in 2021 that before his acting career, he engaged in several miscellaneous jobs from 2002 to 2004. As a young individual, he struggled with English speaking and sought to learn the language without any cost. Consequently, he joined a call centre that offered free training in English proficiency and soft skills. In an interview, he mentioned his extensive range of odd jobs during that period, including being a waiter, courier boy, STD booth operator, cyber cafe assistant, and occasionally assisting a DJ when he needed extra money. This was driven by the prevailing belief at the time that acquiring fluency in English was essential. Despite facing financial constraints, Harshvardhan attempted to find affordable coaching classes but was unable to do so. Hence, he made the decision to join a call centre where he could receive the required training.

Harshvardhan, in 2021, chose to sell his bike in order to aid those impacted by Covid-19. Having tested positive for Covid in 2020, he was also hospitalized during that time. Expressing his immense happiness and appreciation, Harshvardhan took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post about his donation of bikes.

In 2021, Harshvardhan took to Twitter to share a picture where he was likened to WWE wrestler Roman Reigns.

Harshvardhan is the founder of the Shirt-off fund, a unique initiative that raises funds for Swati, a young girl who lost her parents to HIV. Swati was adopted by Harshvardhan at the age of four. In an interview, Harshvardhan explained the concept behind the fund, stating that he transforms his shirts into notebooks and gives them away to support the education of underprivileged girls. While he used to receive donation requests, he couldn’t relate to them as he had always focused on supporting himself. After considering various ideas, such as making furniture for orphanages or giving away clothes, Harshvardhan came up with the idea of a garage sale. The proceeds from the sale would be dedicated to funding Swati’s education. Together, Harshvardhan and Swati are working towards a brighter future.

In 2020, he took to his Instagram to share the news of his breakup with Kim Sharma. He expressed gratitude towards her, stating, “K, I appreciate your gentle soul! Our time together was truly incredible and so much more. May God bless both you and me. Goodbye, H.” Reflecting on the breakup, he acknowledged that his DNA played a role in the situation. He mentioned that he had been without a partner for the past 12 years, believing that there must be a reason behind it. He described his time with Kim as a romantic journey, emphasizing that she is the most enjoyable person he has ever encountered on this planet.
