Some Lesser Known Facts About Khawar Farid Maneka
- In the 1990s, Khawar entered this world as a member of a prominent political and spiritual family. This was due to his father’s significant role as a federal minister under the leadership of Benazir Bhutto, the prime minister at the time.
- From his early years, he has had a natural inclination towards Sufism and mysticism.
- His mother belonged to a Pathan family from Jalandhar, which relocated to Pakistan in 1947.
- Muhammad Ahmad Khan, his mother’s father, held the esteemed position of chief justice at the Bhopal High Court.
- He served as a Commissioner (Enforcement) at a Regional Tax Office in the year 2010.
- In 2011, he assumed the role of Directorate General of Training & Research (Customs) at the Federal Board of Revenue in Islamabad.
- Due to his frequent transfers within Pakistan, he had gained a consistent reputation as a corrupt employee. This reputation became evident when he was removed from his position as the Director General (DG) of Transit Trade and his promotion was halted in 2015, all due to his corrupt conduct.
