Controversy On late Monday night of 2 December 2020, Randhawa was arrested along with cricketer Suresh Raina, Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan, and seven staff members of a club in Mumbai by Mumbai police for violating COVID-19 norms. Later, all were released on bail. Following the incident, Guru Randhawa released a statement in which he apologized for his behavior and termed the incident unintentional; the statement reads, “Guru Randhawa, who had stepped out for dinner with close friends before returning back to Delhi the same morning, deeply regrets the unintentional incident that occurred last night. Unfortunately, he was not aware of local authorities decision of night curfew but instantly conformed to all rules laid out by the government officials. He promises to compile with government guidelines and protocols by taking all precautionary measures in the future. Guru has returned to India after a successful tour in the USA/Canada, but unfortunately, he had an incident in Vancouver on July 28th. While performing, Guru had to ask a Punjabi man not to come on stage multiple times. This man became aggressive and started fighting with people backstage. The local promoter, Surinder Sanghera, intervened and sent him away during the show.<br><br>However, after Guru finished his performance and was leaving the stage, the same man approached him and punched him in the face. This resulted in Guru getting four stitches on his right eyebrow and bleeding on the spot. Despite the incident, Guru showed his resilience by returning to the stage and displaying his injury to the audience.<br><br>The man responsible for the attack was accompanied by a few others who also engaged in physical altercations with anyone who tried to intervene. Eventually, they all fled the scene. Guru is now back home in India, feeling safe. He believes that his faith in Guru Nanak Dev ji protected him and has prayed for the attacker to gain a better understanding of right and wrong.<br><br>Guru expresses his gratitude for the continuous love and support from his fans and assures them that their support is all he needs. He thanks his management team for their assistance throughout this challenging situation.
