- Manobala, an Indian actor, film director, producer, comedian, and YouTuber, had an extensive career in the entertainment industry. He showcased his acting skills in over 350 films and took the helm for around 20 TV serials and 10 telefilms as a director.
- In his early days of hardship, he was a member of the ‘Azhwarpet’ group, consisting of South Indian actors and directors such as Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, and Santhana Bharathi. During this period, all the members of the group resided together at Kamal’s residence.
- Manobala gained popularity through his roles in several Tamil films such as ‘Gopurangal Saivathillai’ (1982), ‘Gangai Karai Paattu’ (1995), ‘Swarnamukhi’ (1998), ‘Minsara Kanna’ (1999), and ‘Sethu’ (1999). There is an old picture of Manobala with other actors.
- In 2001, he took charge of the Tami telefilm ‘Siragugal’, which was broadcasted on Sun TV under his direction.

It was at that critical moment that he made the life-changing decision to quit smoking.

The tweet read, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend, Manobhala, a well-known director and actor. My thoughts and condolences are with his family.
