  • He came into the world as a member of a prominent political family in Madras, which is now known as Chennai.
  • M. K. Stalin was given his name after Joseph Stalin, a Soviet revolutionary, who unfortunately passed away just four days after his birth.
  • Stalin became involved in politics at a remarkably early age. At a mere 14 years old, he embarked on his first campaign for the DMK in the 1967 Polls. Demonstrating his proactive nature, M. K. Stalin actively participated in campaigning at the tender age of 14.
  • M.K. Stalin caught the attention of the media for the first time when he was apprehended under MISA for his opposition to the Emergency enforced by the Indira Gandhi Government. M.K. Stalin has now been detained under MISA.
  • Until the early 90s, Stalin was actively involved in the Tamil Film Industry as an actor and film producer.
