On 21 July 2022, Droupadi Murmu, an Indian politician, was elected as the 15th President of India. She took the oath of office on 25 July 2022, making her the youngest President and the first to be born after India gained independence. This information was reported by The Economic Times.

During her youth, both her father and grandfather held the esteemed positions of village headmen.

She held the position of assistant professor at Shri Aurobindo Integral Education and Research Centre, Rajgangpur before entering politics in 1997. Additionally, she served as a junior assistant at the irrigation department of Odisha from 1979 to 1983.

In 1983, she made the decision to resign from her government job in order to care for her children.

From 2015 to 2021, she held the position of the ninth governor of Jharkhand.
