Records/Achievements (main ones) | • Ishan hit 14 sixes in an innings against Delhi in a Ranji Trophy Match, thereby making a record of hitting maximum sixes in an innings. • India’s Under-19 team under his leadership remained unbeatable for 5 consecutive matches at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup and made it to the finals. However, luck didn’t favour India on the night of the finals, as they lost the match to West Indies. • In 2016-17 Raji Trophy, he smashed 273 runs against Delhi. - From a young age, Ishan harbored a deep love for cricket. At just 7 years old, he took on the role of captain for his school team in the School World Cup held in Aligarh.
- He was expelled from school due to his lack of commitment to his studies. Additionally, he frequently faced disciplinary action for doodling cricket fields on his notebook.
- In their childhood, Ishan and his brother Raj shared a common dream of becoming cricketers. Despite Raj’s talent in cricket, he selflessly gave up his own dream to ensure that Ishan could pursue his passion. Throughout their lives, Raj has always harbored the belief that Ishan was the superior player.
