- Harpreet commenced his professional journey by representing the Punjab U-16 team, and later progressed to the Punjab U-19 and Punjab U-23 teams. Demonstrating remarkable skills during a cricket match on campus, Harpreet Brar delivered an outstanding performance.
- Harpreet persevered for seven years, attempting the trials four times, until finally securing the contract for Indian Premier League 2019. With determination, he strived to be chosen for the team, recognizing that this was his final opportunity. At the age of 23, Harpreet viewed this as his last shot at making the team.
- On 20 April 2019, Harpreet Brar marked his first appearance in a Twenty20 match for the Kings XI Punjab team in the 2019 Indian Premier League. The debut game took place at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium against the Delhi Capitals. Harpreet Brar showcased his bowling skills during the IPL match.
- Harpreet Brar displayed his exceptional skills during a test match against Hoshiarpur, while playing for the Ropar Under-19 team. He achieved a remarkable feat by taking 10 wickets in a single inning. Adding to his impressive performance, Harpreet also took five wickets in the first inning, resulting in a total of 15 wickets for him in the match.
