- He possesses skills as a right-handed batsman and a medium pace bowler.
- He possesses excellent swinging skills, able to hurl the ball at a remarkable velocity of 140 kilometers per hour.
- When he was 10 years old, his father took him to Zila Cricket Academy in Jaipur, where he was introduced to his coach Navendu Tyagi.
- Deepak’s father made the sacrifice of resigning from his own job in order to fully focus on Deepak’s cricket career. Together, they would ride a bike from Surat to Hanumangarh so that Deepak could practice at the cricket academy for six hours every day.
- In 2008, the former director of Rajasthan Cricket Association Academy, Greg Chappell, rejected him from participating at the state-level, stating that he lacked the ability to excel in cricket at a higher level.
- He made his T20 debut on 25 October 2010 in a match between Rajasthan and Vidarbha at Jaipur.
- He played his first-ever first-class match (Rajasthan v Hyderabad) in Jaipur in November 2010.
