  • On 2 October 2018, Darshan had his first appearance in List A cricket during the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He then made his debut in first-class cricket for Vidarbha in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy on 1 November 2018. On 21 February 2019, his Twenty20 debut took place in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he demonstrated his skills by taking 16 wickets and securing the title of the second-highest wicket-taker for the tournament.
  • Darshan Nalkande’s limited exposure in first-class and List A matches may have lacked experience, but his remarkable performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy caught the attention he needed to secure a place in the KXIP team. The Kings XI Punjab performance coach, Prasanna Agoram, acknowledged Darshan’s potential in both batting and bowling. This was evident during a practice session for the 2020 IPL, where Darshan Nalkande showcased his skills in action.
