Controversy | Accused of Snatching Rama Prabha’s Properties: Rama Prabha accused Sarath Babu of cheating her and grabbing all her properties after the couple parted ways in 1988. Later, in an interview, calling the accusations baseless, Sarath Babu said that he never robbed any property from her. Sarath said,
I was born with a silver spoon and it was K Balachander who introduced me as a hero. Hence, I do not have the necessity to extort other’s properties as I myself had sufficient properties in my name.” Further, claiming that she only had a house in Alwerpet when they were dating, he said, “When we were in a relationship, a house in Alwarpet is all that she had. Another house in Egmore Benefit Society was under a financial issue. I later came to know that she got one of those houses from her first husband. I had sold my agricultural land back then, which was worth Rs 60 Crore today and had bought an independent house for her in Umapathy Street, Chennai. I had also spent over Rs 1 to 2 lakhs for her old house’s renovation back then.” |

- Sarath Babu took his final breath on May 22, 2023 at AIG Hospital, succumbing to multiple organ failure. Following his demise, AIG Hospital in Hyderabad issued a statement stating that Sarath was admitted on April 20, 2023, in critical condition due to multiple Myeloma, leading to the failure of several organs. Due to his weakened immune system, a team of specialists provided extensive care, including mechanical ventilator support for his lungs and dialysis for his kidneys. Despite the utmost efforts in resuscitation, Sarath unfortunately passed away. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and fans during this challenging time. After his passing, Sarath’s body was kept at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad, allowing his friends and fans to bid their final farewells. Subsequently, his remains were transported to his residence in Chennai. On May 23, 2023, Sarath Babu was cremated and laid to rest in Chennai.
